After breakfast in Warwick, we arrived at Tenterfield avoiding all radars and police cars
(well, nothing has arrived in the mail yet) with plenty of time to have a few putts before
hitting off time. With only 15 people in our group and only 12 playing golf it didn't
take long to realise that some players were missing. After some frantic mobile calls,
the group of "players on the loose" were found to be shopping in town thinking that the
golf began at 12:30 instead of 11:30. Soon after, a small hire car with 3 people (Glenn, John M
and John B) hanging out the windows calling out "wait for us! wait for us" completed out
group of 12.

The weather was cool with a chill wind blowing occasionally from the east but it didn't rain.
The course was in good condition as usual and the greens were excellent.
Several members entered the competition of the Tenterfield Golf Club for the day
which was also a Single Stroke and John Mordacz won the C Grade competition
with his nett 70 and won a $10 voucher. He is thrilled to bits. Just ask him. And
Noel Pittard won the best 2nd nine and a similar prize.

After the announcements of winners and a few drinks we set off to the motel to be told that
we only had 2 rooms to use as some other people had booked in and said they were members of
our group and were in our rooms. Half an hour later and NO raised voices(my newly retired
and relaxed self)we negotiated some other rooms that were being held and bunked the group
of "players on the loose" into a single room. We met at 6:30 for dinner at the Golf Club
and a long table in the middle of the room had been set aside for us. We used our $15 Dinner
Vouchers and the meals were quite good. Here are some pictures of people at dinner.

The next morning at the carpark meeting I was to hear that Glenn and John M had bought one
of the hotels in town at about midnight and Noel was found in the bushes in front of the motel.
I thought that half a million for the hotel was quite a fair price. John M also managed to
get a little more practice with his Line Dancing skills too; and he needed it so I've been told.
Now I know very little of these incidences but I was woken very late by noises of a group
arriving back from town a little jubilant.
All made the Sunday morning golf at 9:00 on time but Glenn couldn't make the 18 holes and had
to ajourn to the bar after only 9 holes. He said that his back was hurting and it had nothing
to do with the night before activities.

At the Monday morning car park meeting, it was decided to meet at Hidden Creek Winery near
Ballandean for morning coffee.(We still haven't found the creek) After three and a half
hours and lunch as well and some bands playing while we listened and talked we finally
left for the drive through the radar screens for home.
A great weekend was had by all who went to Tenterfield and those who didn't go missed a
fantastic social weekend. Do you get the feeling that the golf didn't matter?
