Fourteen World Class Golfers arrived in Queenstown, New Zealand on Saturday 29 November; with the fifteenth player arriving on Sunday 30 November; for battle in this prestigious event. A Toyota Commuter bus was hired to travel the South Island in search of golf courses to play. This vehicle ran on Speights and Sauvignon Blanc which was cheaper than diesel.
For 2008 the golfers were:
a. Champion Col- The Financial Advisor "I think the markets have hit the floor."
b. Hard Rock Donny - I will aim for that rock which will mean that I should miss it.
c. Gentle Jan - Not so Colour Co-ordinated this year.
d. Hot Blooded Charles- I still wear shorts even when it is freezing.
e Generous Gary - I'll wear any kind of hat that you give me.
f. John the Chef - I can make a meal out of those leftovers.
g. Foxy Coxy - I'm enjoying this everyday.
h. Brian the NTP champ - Only (golfing) thing he is any good at.
i. Par Three Pete - I won't reach that Par 3.
j. Jim the Navigator - Now there should be a golf course/winery round here somewhere.
k. Care Free Kerry - I'm having a great time and my golf is improving quickly.
l. Jovial Jeff - I'll be in that. I need a drink.
m. Crazy Kaye - I can do push-ups in this van.
n. Long Hitter Lorraine - I got one at last but the game is nearly over.
o. Miss Half Penny - Dance champion at the Gondola restaurant.
We travelled the land in our bus while staying at Peppers Beacon in Queenstown looking for golf courses to play.
Each day consisted of 3 competitions.
1. The winner on the day won the red jacket.
2. The loser or should I say; lowest scorer, won the Tui hat.
3. A nearest the pin competition on all par 3 holes.
